Too frequently, individuals either attempt to deny the existence of their vulnerabilities or, with a rigid attitude, give in to them, throwing up their hands in despair and saying, "Oh well." Recognize your advantages, but more importantly, accept your weaknesses. Until you do, you cannot triumph against them.

How Do You Develop Self Discipline?

"Decide on a goal."

Start by deciding on only one objective you wish to concentrate on in order to improve your self-discipline. For instance, you may decide to start working out every evening or read a leadership book every week to improve your abilities. Even very minor objectives, like focusing on a task for an hour without checking your messages or abstaining from harmful foods for a day, can help you develop self-discipline. Identify the challenges you'll probably encounter as you work towards your objective, and then come up with a plan of attack for each one.
